P.O. Box 6687
Tallahassee, Florida 32314
850-488-5381
Florida Private Investigators are regulated by the Florida
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of
Licensing.
The State of Florida has been a pioneer in developing
professionalism within the private investigative industry.
At present and by law, in the State of Florida, a candidate
for becoming a private investigator must have proven
experience. A private investigator holds a class “C”
license and must be sponsored by a licensed and insured
agency.
Florida requirements are for the candidate is to have at
least two years of lawfully gained, verifiable, full time
experience or training in college courses that are work
related to criminal justice, criminology or law enforcement
administration or successful completion of any law
enforcement related training received from any Federal,
State, County, or Municipal Agency.
CARTERS INVESTIGATIONS REQUIREMENTS
FOR BECOMING AN INVESTIGATOR
Carters Investigations requires at least five years of Law
Enforcement with powers of arrest and a thorough background
check. This consists of public records check, credit
report, contact with agency that he/she has worked for,
verification and termination information. We are serious
about who we hire to work for you. We invite you to research
Florida State Statute 493 for additional information in this
matter.
Remarkably there are States
that do not have state wide licensing
requirements, but is regulated by each County or city. All you may
have to do to be a private investigator is to pay a licensing fee and
then you are one. It is just that quick
and easy.
As far as our area of coverage, we have world wide contacts through our associations.
Be sure to hire a private investigator that is licensed to
do the work professionally and legally so you can use it in
court without surprises. Ask for proof of licensure. A private
investigator with this agency has earned his title. These
are some of the reasons Florida agencies differ in costs
from $100.00 an hour or more. Our costs are less than
half!
GENERAL
RESUME OF JOHN CARTER, AGENCY OWNER
John Carter stems from five
generations of law enforcement. He was born in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in
South Florida in a law enforcement family. As a husband, a
father of two girls, now grown, and a grandfather to three
grandchildren, he knows what leadership means and how
important the family is.
As soon as he reached the age of twenty one he started his
career in law enforcement with the City of Homestead Police
Department as a police officer and has been in law
enforcement since that time.
John has worked in various jobs while in law enforcement and
goes through training programs yearly as does his
investigators. Some are required
investigative classes required by the Florida Department of
Law Enforcement for Florida officers to maintain their
standards certification. John has also taught for local
junior colleges in related law enforcement subjects.
Some of the law enforcement agencies that John has worked
with and had affiliations with as an employee with powers of
arrest, training consultant or consultant in related fields
are:
Homestead Police Department in Homestead, Florida
Dade County Public Safety Department in Miami, Florida
Alachua County Sheriffs Department in Gainesville, Florida
U.S. Marshall’s Office Southeastern District
Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission in Tallahassee,
Florida
Florida Marine Patrol
United States Air Force, 301st Air Sea Rescue, Homestead Air
Force Base, Florida
U.S. National Park Service Ranger Training Instructor
Miami Dade Junior College
United States Border Patrol training and field work
U.S. Department of Immigrations
United States Customs Air Support unit / drug interdiction
section, Homestead Air Force Base, Florida
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida
Jackson County Sheriffs Department in Marianna, Florida
John Carter started his private investigation agency while
still in law enforcement and worked primarily insurance and
liability cases. Recently John has gotten out
of the full time employment of law enforcement and devoted
all of his attention to Carters Investigations. He is still
a part time officer with the Jackson County Sheriffs
Department in Marianna, Florida.
I frequently find people that are interested in having a
matter investigated but have put it off because they were
worried about confidentiality. Some have dealt with
investigative agencies that have not respected
confidentiality and are a little reluctant to ever use
another investigator.
I assure you that everything pertaining to every file we
work is confidential. I GUARANTEE IT! The State of
Florida requires it, and the breach of this trust is defined
as a violation of law by Florida State Statute #493.
Absolutely nothing is released in any way, verbal or
written, to anyone but our Client. Our Client’s name is also
confidential and will not be released even to law
enforcement without a court order. It is the law, and all
of our investigators protect this matter seriously.
In cases where there is even a remote possibility of a
conflict of interest in any way we will advise you
immediately with the reason. We will not reveal any names
including your name to any other party for any reason. We
will just advise that there is a possible conflict of
interest and decline the matter with respect to the
integrity of your case. We will sometimes work high profile
cases for insurance companies only to find that there are
more insurance companies wanting our services in the same
matter. This has happened with attorneys as well.
To sum this topic up, if you have any questions just give me
a call. I can guarantee confidentiality and I am always
available to take your call. As the agency owner, I am
responsible, and I want to ensure you, our customer, are
satisfied.
